Nude, Navy and Grey Today

GREY, NAVY, STRIPES AND NUDE PUMPS TODAY

Today's outfit is all thrifted with exception of grey Carolyn Taylor cardigan and shoes...it's one of those neat removable fur sweaters. My mommy got it for me for Christmas--thanks, mom! The collar is actually a statement necklace--remember my DIY?--that I made from another shirt.

Have you tried navy, grey, white and nude together? It's a color combination I really love. I also dig the apricot tones in my nails and the light purple--found in one of the double stacked rings on my finger below--along with vintage rhinestone pin accent and vintage clip on earrings.

The Tommy Hillfiger handbag was a .25 cent find at a garage sale this summer! It happens to match my nude pumps perfectly. I love these matte CityClassified shoes; I wear them a lot! They were an Overstock.com purchase that is no longer available as far as I can tell, but if you are in the market for a leg elongating nude shoe, check out these shopping results from Amazon.com!

P.S...I use L.A. Colors nail polish and accent brushes available from many stores for $1 each. I really like their nail art products!

Sweetheart’s Nautical

I thought this outfit was a whimsical combo of red, navy and white stripes, and gold! Certainly nautical—but then I decided to get a little weird and throw in the “hearted” scarf! Lots of fun. And it’s so true what they say; can’t figure out what shoes to wear? When in doubt—go nude! I tried red pumps—they were too much. Navy and black both felt strange. Nude was just right! And often when I choose nude pumps, I go with a lighter bag. This one has popped into quite a few outfit posts lately!

The other great thing about nude pumps is that they very much elongate your legs! As a woman with very thick and muscular calves (who also runs between 10-15 miles per week, which hasn’t exactly reduced my muscles), I need all the slimming power I can get!

A few elements in this outfit WEREN’T thrifted: the pumps and the heart scarf. The rest was purchased for about $7 total, including the skirt and belt ($2.50 together) which were the main “nautical” inspiration for this outfit post! The gold beaded earrings are a new favorite. You’ll see more of them in an upcoming “antiquing” jewelry special! J

I really, really, really love this vintage 80's triangle print dress. It is so fun and colorful. I have such a love affair with primary colored prints....

I thought the outfit worked really well with tan and nude accessories, so I threw this handbag in!

After I while I relaxed with bright red flats. :)
