8 Last Minute Thrift Gifts plus SPECIAL printable tags!
For the fashionista: a vintage clutch and matching gloves won't miss.
Add a current copy of Vogue, rolled and tied with a fancy velvet bow!
LAST MINUTE THRIFT GIFTS
AHHHHH! There is only one more shopping day until Christmas.
Are you in a pinch and out of ideas...or possibly, money?
5. Give sentimentally! It's fun to take a trip down memory lane and try to find a secondhand gift associated with a loved one. For example: this Holly Hobbie plate reminds me so much of my grandmother. =) A dozen cookies on top with a note about a precious childhood reflection would have made this gift sweeter than any holiday treat! I regret not buying it while I was there...
8. Give it in a vintage suitcase! Make your treasure extra snazzy by packing it into a vintage suitcase! I've done this several times before and it is always a hit. If your intended giftee isn't the type for retro luggage, consider packing the gift in a special tin or a more contemporary purse, backpack or container that is also thrifted! (Yes, the collection above is my own, and I will be the first to admit that I'm a vintage suitcase hoarder!)

Sixteen Ways to Style A Vintage Scarf # 7: Scarf-ed Collar

Vintage Scarf Tutorial #7:
“Scarf a Collar” Episode one!
This was a fun and easy project. It only took me about 45 minutes to complete!
Please remember that you can check out all of the 16 ways Scarf tutorials as they happen...I've collected them on one simple Pinterest pinboard for you to follow!

I first took my t-shirt and draped the scarf around the neck, tying it in a single knot in the back.

Of course, there is a prize in today's blog! I'm leaving a fun "mystery" scarf at the Glade St. Hope's Outlet location to be found by any lucky reader who is out that way in

Workspace and project GIFT!
Welcome to my workspace! Err...lack there of. Better organizing my craft supplies, fabric, and DIY/Upcycling projects is something that is on my "to-do" list. Though I am *technically* hoping to place more realistic expectations on myself this year (per my All That Glitters Is Not Goals post), I have decided that for the next month, I will focus on using many of the items I have around the house and thrift finds for PROJECT GIFT! I want to make as many birthday, "just because" and housewarming gifts as I can in the next few weeks to add to my surplus of things to give away. A few things might pop up in the boutique as well.LET'S GO UPCYCLE CRAZY!
I'll be posting DIY blogs and ideas of ways that you can surprise friends and loved ones with original, thoughtful and upcycled gifts that start with found or thrifted items. And....GO!

See how cramped I am in here? I store fabric in vintage suitcases (surprised?) and share my crafting space with my piano...hmmm....not the best design.
Ofcourse vintage beauty WOULD abound in my sewing space. The entire sewing cabinet and chair are also vintage and I own two vintage Singers.
That said, I sure do love my Kenmore machine!

Isn't it time for this little piggy button to find a home? I think so, too.

Lifer

LIFER:
I suspect that I will be one. A slave to fashion, addict to thrift. I just love clothes, jewelry, and all things ornamental. And I refuse to buy them new or pay top dollar for them. Virtually everything in my closet is secondhand and if it wasn't secondhand, it was clearance, a gift, or free. There are very few items I'll buy new (yes, undergarments and beauty/food products are in this category, and usually a decent pair of fall boots) but I make a conscious effort to thrift everything else in my life--including furniture, appliances, cars, and everything else you can think of.
MY MOTTO: THRIFTED, GIFTED OR FREE!
I started this blog in 2011 mainly for myself (a type "A" personality that doesn't need even ONE more creative project on the back-burner). I suppose that categorizing and highlighting all of my great thrifting finds and outfit combos was just the perfect compulsive cherry on top of an already delicious hoarding fantasy. :)
It was easy to fall in love with "Thrift Trick" because I adore fashion and vintage life; I'm completely obsessed with photography, fashion shows, thrifting and finding great deals on edgy, colorful, quirky and vintage clothes and household items. It isn't just about being cheap...for me, it's a continual effort at conservation.
REDUCE YOUR CARBON FOOTPRINT: CONSUME LESS. BUY SECONDHAND!
LOVE YOURSELF and TREAT YOURSELF WELL.
Since then, putting health and positive body image into the forefront in addition to the vintage, thrifted and fashion coverage has been of utmost importance for me. My hope is to bring fun tidbits of style, inspiration, vintage living and, most importantly, HAPPY AND HEALTHY living to you.
